SIOUX CITY -- Richard A. Hahn, 75, of Sioux City passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at his residence.
Abiding by his wishes, the body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with Deacon Patricia Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
Richard was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Cherokee, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Mary Hahn. He received his schooling in Sioux City. He honorably served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He married Shirley Cox on July 16, 1990, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple were life long Sioux City residents. He was a retired supervisor at Zenith.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife and going on their Saturday outings,. He liked spending time with his friends at Fairmont Apartments and with his senior companion and special friend, Bob Anderson.
Richard is survived by his wife, Shirley of Sioux City; six daughters, Sandie (Gary) McDonald of Norfolk, Neb., Toni (Don) Kline of Le Mars, Iowa, Julie (Sid) Loe of Sioux City, Angela (Frank) Sotelo of El Paso, Texas, Jackie (David) Sterling of El Paso, and Susan (Gary) Freda of El Paso; three stepsons, Stanley (Virginia) Cox of Sioux City, Terry Cox of Evansville, Ind., and Michael Cox of Sioux City; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Valentine of Sioux City; three half brothers; 14 grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.
