Mary V. Haefs

SIOUX CITY -- Mary V. "Sue" Haefs, 87, of Sioux City passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at her residence.

Abiding by her wishes, the body was cremated. No services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Mary was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Sioux City, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Szostak) Bojarski. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City.

She loved family gatherings and time spent with grandchildren. She enjoyed doing crafts and crosswords. She had great pleasure in her puppy, Cuddles, and her birds. Her comfort and faith in God gave her great peace and joy.

Survivors include her children, Douglas Haefs and his wife, Robin of Tennessee, Clifford Haefs and his wife, Jill of Hinton, Iowa, Cathy and her husband, Mike Harsma of rural Hinton, Steve Haefs of Sioux City, Phil Haefs and his wife, Bonnie of Sioux City and Connie Haefs of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; a son, David; a brother; and a sister.
