Darlene M. Grove, 79, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Whitfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michelle Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Emerson, Neb. Darlene was born April 20, 1928, in Dakota City, the daughter of Tom and Grace (Leedom) O'Dell.
She married Albert W. Grove on Sept. 16, 1946 in Sioux City. He died in 1983 in Sioux City. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident and a homemaker.
She was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church. She loved to play bingo and put puzzles together.
Survivors include three sisters, Georgia and her husband, Jerry Anstine of Kingsley, Iowa, Mary Beldin of Dakota City and Kathleen Nuttall of Omaha; a brother and his wife, Jerry and Roberta O'Dell of Sioux Falls, S.D.; four grandchildren, Russell Adams III and his significant other, Anna of Sioux City, Dawn Adams and her significant other, Monte of Sioux City, Mandy Grove and Chad Grove; five great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Russell Adams II of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Sue Grove of Sioux City; and special friends, Marliss Hilden and Diane Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Maynard Grove; a daughter, Loretta Adams; a sister, Nadene Lewon; a brother, Mike O'Dell; and two brothers-in-law, Dale Beldin and Oz Nuttall.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Addison, Jesse Addison, Randy Woods, Jason O'Dell, Robert Packard and Larry Grove.
