Alfred H. Groth

Alfred Groth, 80, of Cushing, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in Cushing. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2006 at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home with Reverend Sheryl Ashley officiating. Services will conclude with Military Honors by the U.S. Navy.

Alfred was born October 22, 1926 in near Cushing to Henry and Olga (Hargens) Groth. He was raised in Cushing, IA; Alfred served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. He married Dorothy Sevey on April 10, 1945. Alfred was a member of the American Legion Post 0624 for 60 years. He ran a service station for 50 years in Cushing. He also proudly drove a school bus for 52 years.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy, a daughter Vicki Lynn Von Aswege, a granddaughter Debbie and husband Matthew, a grandson Brian, a great grandson Joshua, great granddaughters Shawna and Shayla, a brother Laverne Groth and several nieces and nephews.
