David Gritten

David Gritten, 45, of Sioux City died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, in Sioux City.

David was born Oct. 3, 1962, in Sioux City, the son of David Sr. and Mary Lou (Harrington) Gritten. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City Schools.

On Sept. 17, 1988, he married Lisa Hightree in Walthill, Neb. To this union two children, Nicole and Sean, were born. He worked in the security department at several companies for several years. He also was employed at various other places in Sioux City.

He enjoyed all kinds of outdoor sports with his son. He was an avid reader, history buff and friend of Izaak Walton League in Salix, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Gritten; a daughter, Nicole Gritten; a son, Sean Gritten; a grandson, Landon; his mother, Mary Lou Gritten; two sisters, Beverly Berg and her husband, Russell, and Alissa Gritten and her husband, Mike, all of Sioux City; several nieces and nephews; and his in-laws, Boyd and Norma Hightree.

He was preceded in death by his father David Sr.; and his grandparents.
