SIOUX CITY -- Viola Anne Greteman, 84, of Sioux City died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at Holy Spirit Nursing & Rehab Center following a brief illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church, with the Revs. Jerome Cosgrove and Allan Reicks concelebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 3 to 6 p.m. today, with a 4 p.m. rosary recited by the Catholic Daughters of America, and a vigil service at 5 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Viola Anne was born Nov. 7, 1924, in Sioux City, to John A. and Marcella (McCoy) Greteman. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. She graduated from Leeds High School. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident. Viola Anne was employed by IPS (now MidAmerican Energy) for more than 40 years.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Ave Maria Court 269. Viola Anne did volunteer work for Mercy Medical Center for 16 years and Trinity Heights for more than 10 years.
Survivors include her sister, Veramae Greteman of Sioux City; and four godchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
