Ann D. Grause, 73, of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at St. Lukes Hospital. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008, from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Morningside Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Sowers officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ann was born on July 18, 1934, in Bronson, Iowa to Ellie and Agnes (Trobough) Arnett. She grew up in the Bronson area and graduated from Bronson High School in 1951. On October 27, 1952, she married Paul Grause in Bronson.
Ann was a home maker, but she also worked outside the home. She worked at the county jail for 3 or 4 years, the restaurant at the court house and also at Karens restaurant in Sergeant Bluff. Later she worked at Billy Sunday Retirement Home now known as Countryside Retirement Home for 7 years.
Ann was a charter member of Morningside Baptist Church; her only wish was that everyone would know Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
Ann is survived by her husband, Paul of Sioux City, 6 children, Teresa Grause of Sioux City, Linda Olsen and husband Mike of Sioux City, Marcia Drieman and husband Paul of St. Louis, MO, David Grause and wife Cindy of Sioux City, Vicky Grause of Sioux City, and James Grause of Texas, a daughter-in-law, Connie Grause of Bismarck, ND, 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren. 2 brothers, Elgerd Arnett and wife Marlyn of Sioux City, Ron Arnett and wife Nancy of MN, and a sister, Fern Watkins and husband Jack of ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellie and Agnes, a son, Timothy Grause, and 2 sisters, Dorothy and Laverne.
Serving as, pallbearers will be her grandsons.
