Norman J. Graham, 67, of rural Sioux City died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Snyder officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ellendale, Iowa. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Mr. Graham was born April 19, 1940, on a farm in southern Plymouth County, Iowa, the son of Leo E. and Margaret (Crouch) Graham. He attended grade school at Perry 8, then North Junior High School and graduated in 1958 from Central High School. He attended Northwest Institute of Laboratory Technique in Minneapolis, graduating in 1959.

He married Carol Ehlers on July 31, 1981, in Sioux City. He worked as a lab and x-ray tech at a hospital in Lake City, Minn. He returned to Plymouth County in the 1960s to farm until retiring in 2005 due to poor health.

He enjoyed watching football and track. He traveled to places such as Alaska, Nova Scotia and the Rocky Mountains.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of Sioux City; four sons, Robert, Rick and Jeff Ehlers and Jerry Ehlers and his fiancee, Diana Schofield, all of Sioux City; and two sisters, Ruth Lill of Aurelia, Iowa, and Joyce and her husband, Bill Wilsbacher of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Geraldine Allen.

Pallbearers will be Steve Krage, Larry Vondrak, Dennis Kroll, Glen Wingert, Tim Vondrak and Bob Vondrak
