SIOUX CITY -- Robert L. Goulette, 82, of Sioux City died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at his home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Patricia Roberts, deacon of Calvary Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Robert was born March 4, 1927, in Sioux City, to Conrad and Thelma (Greger) Goulette. He attended Wagner School. He married Goldie Redwing in 1949 and Marilyn Williams in 1958. Both preceded him in death. He owned and operated his own business, Goulette Tile Company, as a tile contractor for 43 years in Sioux City.
He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Indian Mission, Hardee's A.M. Coffee Club and the Yankton Sioux Tribe. In his free time, he loved to hunt and fish, do carpenter work, watch W.W.E. on Monday nights and was a Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include a son, Robert J. Goulette and his wife, Patricia of Wagner, S.D.; a daughter, Thelma Thomas and her husband, Ron of Santee, Neb.; three brothers, Lester of Omaha, Delmar of Omaha and Larry of Delmont, S.D.; two sisters, Evelyn Dougherty of Kansas City, Kan., and Lillian Docken of Omaha; special friend, Donna A. Fegley of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Violet; a brother, Jessie; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
