SIOUX CITY -- Alma M. Gosen, 89, of Sioux City died Monday, March 9, 2009.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at St. Thomas Orthodox Church, with the Rev. Paul Hodge officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Orthodox Cemetery, Graceland Park. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m., at the church. Visitation will resume 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Alma was born March 9, 1920, in Sioux City, the daughter of Assaff and Snoura (Butrous) Gosen. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident. She attended Central High School. She worked at Montgomery Ward Department Store for 12 years, then for Peet Paint Store for 19 years, retiring in 1982.
She was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Orthodox Church.
Survivors include her sisters, Freda Dacy of Silver Spring, Md.; a niece, Linda Dacy of Silver Spring; two nephews, Ted (Adena) Dacy of Silver Spring and Les Dacy of Gaithersburg, Md.; and eight grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Nick Gosen.
Pallbearers will be Ted Dacy, Ron Carlson, Tim Davenport, Paul Lammers, Rodney and Richard Gregg. Honorary pallbearer will be Les Dacy.
Memorials may be directed to St. Thomas Orthodox Church.
