SIOUX CITY -- Larry Dennis Gosch, 69, of Sioux City passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Larry was born June 15, 1941, in Ute, Iowa, the son of Henry and Helen (Jors) Gosch. He graduated from Charter Oak-Ute High School.
Larry married Barbara Paul on March 2, 1968, in South Sioux City. He worked as a custodian and as a security guard. He also enjoyed working small jobs as a mechanic and in construction.
Larry loved spending time with his family. He was a very active person. He enjoyed fishing, camping, walking and riding his bike.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Sioux City; two daughters, Amy and her husband, Pat Kallsen of Sioux City, and Marie and her husband, Nate Theisen of Jackson, Miss.; five grandchildren, Tyler, Ambere, Jeremiah, Lily and Alexys; a stepgrandson, Aaron; three brothers, Duane, Verdus and Donald; four sisters, Marlene, Karen, Janet and Linda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Allen; a granddaughter, Ashlee; and two sisters, Lois and Ardis.
