Ruth M. Gordon

SIOUX CITY -- Ruth M. Gordon, 89, of Sioux City died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at her residence.

Private graveside services will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2009 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Ruth was born Oct. 31, 1919, in Sioux City, to Joseph W. and Jennie B. (Voss) Taylor. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. She married Richard F. Gordon on Nov. 7, 1951, in Sioux City. He died on Aug. 29, 1984, in Sioux City.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Gordon and his wife, Diane of Johnston, Iowa, and Michael Gordon and his wife, Gloria of Topeka, Kan.; five grandchildren, Breanna, Ryan, Dakota and Delaney Gordon and Lindsey Rasmussen; a sister, Maxine Minicozzi of Locust Valley, N.Y.; and a brother, William Taylor and his wife, Lynn of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Vivian Stuart and Beatrice Betsworth; and two brothers, Lawrence and Charles Taylor.
