SIOUX CITY -- Keith G. Goetz, 47, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2011.
Private family memorial services will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, with his uncle, the Rev. John Heekin and the Rev. Gary Snyder officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Keith was born Sept. 13, 1963, in Omaha, the son of Paul and Margaret "Mickey" Goetz. He graduated from Bishop Heelan high School in 1982. He served in the U.S. Army from 1983 to 1985. He worked as an office supply salesman for various businesses throughout the Midwest.
Keith was a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan and attended many events. He enjoyed spending time with his children. He was known for his green thumb, from his plants to the garden.
Survivors include his children, Katelin and Kylie of Sioux City; his mother, Margaret "Mickey" Goetz of Sioux City; his father, Paul Goetz of Sioux City and Texas; eight brothers and sisters, Brad Goetz and his wife, Pam of Springfield, Ill., Brent Goetz of Spencer, Iowa, Paula Goetz of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Kevin Goetz and his wife, Sheila of Thornton, Colo., Kent Goetz of Santa Clara, Calif., Theresa Goertz and her husband, Tim of Hornick, Iowa, Kert Goetz of Lincoln, Neb., and Kenneth Goetz of Las Vegas, Nev.; six nieces and nephews, Jason and Jillian Goetz, Kyle Goetz, Brittney and Brandon Goertz, and James Ferguson; and three grandnephews, Bradley, Tyler and Levi Wayman.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marguerite (Haven) and Thomas Vincent Sinnott and Elida (Guitterez) and Paul Goetz; and a brother, Brian Goetz.
