Mary (Mehess) Glarum, 72 of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at her residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, with the Rev. George Pappas officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 7 p.m. today, with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mary was born June 13, 1934, in Sioux City, to John and Bessie (Bouzanis) Mehess.
She married Robert L. Glarum on Feb. 20, 1960, in Sioux City. Mr. Glarum died Feb. 10, 1979. Mary retired from Sadoff's Men's Clothing in 1992 due to ill health.
She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Elizabeth and Thomas Haddad of Omaha, Neb. and Christine and Raymond McAvoy of Sioux City; a sister, Annette Prewitt and her husband, Vernon of Sioux City; special girls, Suzanne Sullivan and Robin and her husband, Lee Schroeder; nephews, John, Jim, Bill and Billy Mehess and John Prewitt; and nieces, Georgia Matheakis, Vada Kline, Mary Ann McCoy, Helen Dearman and Cathy Ryder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, John and Bessie Mehess; and brothers, George, Gus, Tom and Art Mehess.
Pallbearers will be Nick Stamoulis, Risty Stamoulis, John Sutherland, George Klimeadis, Johnny Sutherland, Gary Olsen and Jamie Bowers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Milbrodt, Gus Sengos, Pete Vlahoulis, Gus Demetroulis, John Kounas, Chris Kounas and Ted Matsukis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
