Marie T. Gilman of Sioux City died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Condolence may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Mrs. Gilman was born March 6, 1910, in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Scott) Thornton. She came to Sioux City as a child and attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Cathedral High School.
She married Howard W. Gilman on June 10, 1935, in Sioux City. He died Feb. 19, 1965, in Sioux City. The couple owned and operated H.W. Gilman Window and Awning for 20 years. She later was a cook for Monsignor Brady for 22 years.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Catholic Women's League and a former member of the Girls of '68.
Survivors include her cousins; a number of earth angels; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother.
Pallbearers will be Dan Young, Mike Stodden, Mitch, Brian and Rich Wright and Kevin Klein.
