Patrick A. Ford

Patrick A. (Pat) Ford passed away Friday, July 25th, 2008 after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church, with the Rev. Merlin Schrad officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm today, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Pat was born November 14, 1935, in Sioux City, the son of P. Armour and Mary R. (Jacobi) Ford. He attended Joy School and Immaculate Conception Grade School and graduated from Heelan High School in 1954. He served four years in the US Navy and returned home to Sioux City.

Pat was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a thirty one-year veteran of the City of Sioux City Water Treatment Plant. He was a lifelong fisherman and handyman.

Survivors include his wife Beth, and six daughters, Roma & Rob Haling (Denver, CO), Renae & Chris Nicholson (Irwin, IA), Ronni Sue (Suzi) & John Bell (Fort Worth, TX), Robyn & Erik Jussila (Aurora, CO), Reann & Jon Risor (Bloomfield, NE), and Rheta Ford (Sioux City), four grandchildren, Patrick and Kateri Bell, Ryan Haling, and Corrianna Jussila, a brother, Mike & Glenda Ford (Sioux City), several brother and sister-in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many friends.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents.

Pat preferred that people celebrate his life rather than mourn him in death. With respect to this wish, the family requests that those attending the services wear more colorful clothing to celebrate his life.
