Edna A Foix, 91 of Sioux city, Ia was welcomed into heaven by God on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 and now looks over us with Ed, her loving husband of 69 years.

Services will be 10:45 p.m. Monday March 1, 2010 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Meinen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A celebration of Ednas life will be Sunday at 4:00 P.M. with family present 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel 3220 Stone Park Blvd. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com

Edna was born Dec. 29, 1918 in Centerville, MN., the daughter of Thomas and Agnes Peltier. She married Edmund A. Foix Aug 19, 1939 in Sioux City, IA at St Jean-Baptist Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.

Edna was a homemaker and a devoted, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed and looked forward to precious time spent with her family. She was considered to be one of the most caring and loving person to all she knew. She showered all of us with an abundance of love that will carry us through the rest of our lives.

Those left to cherish her memories are: 4 children, Eleanor Ann (Clyde) Rosenbaum of Jefferson, SD, Earl J. Bud (Sally) Foix of Omaha, NE, James W. (Helen) Foix of Mesa, AZ, and Susan K (Chuck) Haugen of Sioux City, IA.; 3 sisters-in-law, Edna A. Wall of Stillwater, MN., Dorothy Foix of Sioux City and Rose Peltier of Mpls, MN.; a special niece, Donna Ortt of Sioux City. 10 grandchildren, Brian (Kathy) Rosenbaum, Sephanie (fianc, Gary Henry) Rosenbaum, Christoph (Susan) Foix, Laura Mathews, Leah (Cole) Knapp, Nick (Jennifer) Haugen, Ryan Haugen, Chris Haugen, Mona (Pat) Dewar, Joel( Kari) Foix; 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund, who passed away May 28, 2009, 6 sisters and 2 brothers.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.

The family wishes to extend our gratitude to the caregivers of Holy Spirit Retirement Home and Hospice of Sioux City.
