Albert C. Flick, 89, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at Sunrise Retirement Community.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Dan Moser officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Iowa Army Reserves. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Mr. Flick was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Sioux City, the son of William and Emma "Blanche" Flick. He attended Sioux City schools. He served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army, receiving the Purple Heart Medal.
He married Isabella G. Thallas on Sept. 6, 1939, in Sioux City. She passed away May 4, 2005 in Sioux City. He was a laborer and drove truck for W.A. Klinger Construction Company.
He enjoyed and took pride in his work. He liked to go fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed fixing and tinkering with small engines in his retirement. He was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Sharon) Flick of Sioux City and Ronald (Donna) Flick of Wadena, Iowa; a daughter, Barbara (Jon) Hittle of Damascus, Md.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters; a brother; a son; and a granddaughter.
