SIOUX CITY -- Helen K. (Mesz) Fick, 68, of Ida Grove, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, in Ida Grove.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City.
Helen was raised in Bronson, Iowa, by her parents, Gerhard and Luella (Miller) Mesz. She graduated from Bronson High School with the class of 1959.
She married James Fick in 1961, and was later divorced. She was a homemaker for the majority of her life, enjoying family and friends. She enjoyed volunteering at the nursing home and her church, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove.
She is survived by her brother, Howard Mesz and his wife, Kay of Sioux City; nieces, Laura Mesz, Michele Pucelik and her husband, John and Patty Hedemark and her husband, Kevin; nephews, David Mesz and his wife, Susan, and Bryan Mesz and his wife, Christa; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her ex-husband, James.
