Doris P. Fetterman

December 12, 1918 — July 16, 2009

Doris P. Fetterman, 90, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at a local nursing home. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Reverend James Pointer officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Doris was born on December 12, 1918 in Martinsburg, Nebraska to Ralph and Phebe Bell (Clark) Still. She grew up in Sioux City and attended East High School. She married Raymond Scott and the couple lived in San Antonio, Texas for nearly 40 years. Following the death of her first husband Raymond, Doris married Karl L. Fetterman on July 29, 1989 at Sioux City Baptist Church.

Doris worked in a clothing store in San Antonio and upon returning to Sioux City, she volunteered at the Sioux City Gospel Mission auxiliary for many years. She was also a charter member of the Sioux City Baptist Ambassadors Club.

Doris enjoyed crocheting, shopping with her sisters, wintering in Rockport, Texas and going to auctions. Doris is survived by her husband Karl of Sioux City, 2 step sons, Jim Fetterman and wife Linda of Olathe, Kansas and David Fetterman and wife Becky of Tipton, Iowa 3 sisters, Rhodora Ewing, Roberta Harvey and husband George, and Joyce Keil and husband Bill all of Sioux City, a special niece Doris Kay Conley, and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband Raymond, 3 brothers, Irvin, Rolland and Harry Still, 2 sisters, Genevieve Pfost and Marion Pearce. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Siouxland or Sioux City Baptist Church Building Fund.
