Keith V. Everett, 81, of Sioux City died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital following a four-month battle with cancer.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Squires officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Keith was born April 12, 1926, in Sioux City, the son of Melvin Everett and Vada Sisson. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy.
He married Dorothy Wright on May 5, 1944, at Whitfield United Methodist Church in Sioux City. He worked as a welder for All Power, retiring in May 1988.
He loved to do leather work after retirement. He also enjoyed going fishing, hunting in his younger years and watching sports of the television, especially golf and baseball. He also enjoyed playing cards and feeding the birds and squirrels. He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Everett of Sioux City; two sons, Gary (Ann) Everett of Dakota Dunes, S.D., and Kevin (Sally) Everett of McKinney, Texas; four grandchildren, Todd (Lorinda) Everett, Kristen (John) Torno, Ryan (Chrissy) Everett and Sean Everett; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Cleadus.
