Charles E. Eriksen, 81, of rural Hubbard, NE: passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Matneys Colonial Manor in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2007 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Vicar Randy Rasmussen officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors performed by Harty McNally Post 175 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, Nebraska.

Charles was born on August 5, 1925 in Jackson, NE: to Victor and Essie (Francisco) Eriksen. He was raised in the Hubbard and Jackson area, where he attended school. He joined the United States navy on April 14 of 1944 where he served in the South Pacific during W.W.II. He was honorably discharged on May 23, 1946. Charles was a member of Harty McNally Post 175. Upon his return he worked at Beerman Brothers Dehy in Dakota City, Dakota County Department of Roads, and Irvin F. Jensen Company of Sioux City for 25 years as an equipment operator. He married Norma Jean Demke on June 18, 1950. To this union 4 sons (the cubs) were born.

Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years Norma Jean, 3 son and spouses Gary (Pete) and Patti Eriksen and their son Brad and daughter Kayla. Terry and Merrie Eriksen and their three sons Jarod and wife Kai, Nathaniel and Chance. Two daughters Katie and Betsy. Douglas and Kathy Eriksen and their daughter Laura and son Brian all of Hubbard. Grandson Dr. Erich and wife Kim Eriksen of Erie, PA. Four great-grandchildren Blake, Kamy, Ethan and Zoey. Daughter-in-law Penny and her husband Gary Olson and 2 sons Chad and Reid of Omaha and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by son Gerald, Parents, 4 Brothers, Ralph, Frances, James and Leo. 1 sister Iva Todd.
