Paul T. Elsner, 89, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at his residence.
Private family memorial services will be held, with the Revs. Daniel Guenther and Andrew Bao Bo officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Mr. Elsner was born June 17, 1918, in Sioux City, the son of Hugo and Theresa (Pouglith) Elsner. He graduated from East High School.
He married Janice Harrington on April 5, 1941, in Sioux City. He operated his own painting business for 55 years in Sioux City.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Sioux City Historical Museum. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, watching boxing, gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Elsner of Sioux City; a daughter, Sharon (Russ) Godberson of Bellevue, Neb.; two grandchildren, Paul Godberson of Bellevue and Heidi (Patrick) LeBeau of Platsmouth, Neb.; and five great-grandchildren, Amber and Andrew LeBeau, Marissa, Randi and Tommy Godberson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randy Elsner; a brother, Rudolph Elsner; and two sisters, Louise Putrite and Milly Fugle.
