Chad F. Elgert

SIOUX CITY -- Chad F. Elgert, 35, of Sioux City died Sunday, July 18, 2010, at a local hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Bruch officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Chad, the son of Tom and Susan (McCormick) Elgert, was born March 22, 1975, in Sioux City. He was a lifelong Sioux City resident. Chad worked for Service Master for eight years before working at Tri-State Plumbing for two years. He then worked for Speedy Rooter for four years.

Chad loved to hunt and fish. He had two dogs, Crimson and Winsor, whom he loved very much. Chad enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Chad is survived by his parents, Tom and Susan Elgert of Sioux City; one brother, Mike (Debbie) Elgert of Sioux City; one sister, Christina (Brandon) Fick of Sioux City; four nieces; two nephews; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother; maternal grandparents; and one uncle, Roger McCormick.

Pallbearers will be Mark Elgert, Jr., Josh Elgert, Justin Ames, Tracy Owen, Glenn Miller, and Bob Dobson. Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Elgert, Sr.
