Arden R. "Dick" Eads, 76, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Beaver Creek Cemetery, Beaver Creek, Minn. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Dick was born Oct. 9, 1931, in Sioux City, the son of Arden L. and Dorothy (Fuglsang) Eads. He graduated from Beaver Creek High School in Minnesota. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He married Juanita C. Pitts in Luverne, Minn., on Aug. 13, 1950. She preceded him in death on Aug. 28, 1992, in Flandreau, S.D. He was employed as a truck driver.
He belonged to the Masonic Lodge, the Jaycees and the American Legion. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and buying, selling and trading guns. He also was a handyman.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Ricky and Jennifer Eads of Claremore, Okla.; a daughter, Debra Rohmiller and her fiance, Joel Gottlieb of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Jackie, Cassie, Noah, Allison, Dory and Sara; two brothers and their wives, Lonnie and Connie Eads of Mountain Lake, Minn., and Dale and Jan Eads of Worthington, Minn.; several nieces, nephews, cousins, a great-aunt and a grandpuppy, Wiggles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, Gary Eads.
