SIOUX CITY -- Kenneth F. "Ken" Dye, 43, of Sioux City passed away suddenly Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at his residence.
Services will be 5 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, 822 Jennings St., with the Rev. Scott Squires officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Ken was born Nov. 18, 1966, in Casper, Wyo., the son of Charles and Mary (Meier) Dye. He entered into the job corps and received his welding degree.
He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and swimming. He especially loved spending time with his best friend, his dog, Bear.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Mary and John Nelson of Sioux City; two sons, Justin Dye and Nathan Salpas of Grand Island, Neb.; a brother, Ray Nelson of Sioux City; four sisters, Marlene and her husband, Dennis Rees, Stacy Dye and her husband, Shane Blackford, Torrie and her husband, Brett Campbell, all of Sioux City and Ronda Nelson and her significant other, Dave VanderFeen of Hawarden, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents.
Memorials may be made in his name to the family.
