Eva M. "Tootie" Donovan, 88, of Sioux City died Monday, April 21, 2008, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Del Olivier officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Eva Mae Gensichen was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Walthill, Neb., the daughter of Fritz and Della (Jacobs) Gensichen. She was a graduate of Central High School. She worked for Bell Telephone Company during World War II. She married Lloyd Donovan on Sept. 12, 1942, in Sioux City.

She was an avid golfer and bowler, attending more than 50 WIBC state and national tournaments. She was in charge of the Junior Bowling program at Plaza Bowl for many years.

Survivors include her son, Larry Donovan of Rapid City, S.D.; her sisters-in-law, Betty Shook and May Gensichen of Sioux City; two grandsons, Cameron Donovan and his wife, Danielle of Eagle Mountain, Utah, and Kyle Donovan of Tampa, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren, Madison, Michael and Nicholas Donovan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Donovan; her sister, LaVelle Kennett; a brother, Ski Gensichen; and her youngest son, Scott Donovan.
