DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. -- Justin P. Dimick, 24, of Dakota Dunes died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

The body was cremated. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service today at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Justin was born Sept. 22, 1984, in Sioux City, the son of Philip Dimick and Mary Kay Thornton. He graduated from Dakota Valley High School. He then attended the University of South Dakota and Western Iowa Tech Community College. Besides being a full-time student, he also worked at Qwest.

He loved riding his motorcycle and boating. He will best be remembered as a fun loving, outgoing, free spirit who was a good mentor to his son, nephew and niece. Everyone who knew him, knew you had a friend in him. He will be deeply missed by his many close friends.

Survivors include a son, Colton Dimick of Sioux City; his father, Philip Dimick of Sioux City; his mother, Mary Kay Dimick of Ankeny, Iowa; three siblings, Jennifer (Nick) Roepsch of Platteville, Wis., Douglas Dimick of Platteville and Ashley (Daniel) Paul of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; maternal grandparents, Margaret and Marv Thornton of Ankeny; paternal grandparents, Douglas and Kay Dimick of Sioux City; a niece and nephew, Elle and Ethan Roepsch of Platteville; a special friend and cousin, Charlie Byrd of Ankeny; and many special aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elaine Dimick.
