Keith I. Dillon

November 25, 1926 — January 22, 2008

Keith I. Dillon, 81, of Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at a local hospital. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008, from 3-8 p.m. with the family 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2008, at Riverside United Methodist Church with Reverend Janice Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Park Cemetery, with military honors by the United States Army.

Keith was born on November 25, 1926, in Sioux City to Jesse F. and Evelyn (Hansel) Dillon. He grew up in the Jefferson, SD area, and graduated from Jefferson High School. Keith enlisted in the U.S. Army in March of 1945. He served as a paratrooper and was honorably discharged in Dec. of 1946.

Upon his return, he married Dorothy Allison on February 7, 1947 in Sioux City. The couple lived their entire married life in Sioux City. He worked as an accountant / bookkeeper for Roberts Dairy and International Paper for 31 years.

Keith enjoyed fishing, gambling, and horse racing. He was a member of the American Legion Monahan Post #64 in Sioux City.

Keith is survived by his children, Douglas Dillon (Kathy) of Vancouver, WA, Karen Cole (Dennis) of Sioux City, Brenda Dillon of Sioux City, Pamela Dillon (Kirk) of Haines, AK, Becky Michael (Dan) of Elk Point, SD, Linda Wilhelmi (Tom) of Sioux City. 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a brother Tom Dillon (Ginger) of Sioux City, and a sister, Norma Simpson (Ron) of Sacramento, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy in June of 2005, 2 sisters, Shirley Comstock and Joann Mahnke.

The family would like to thank the nurse (Pam) on the fifth floor at St. Lukes and also to Hospice of Siouxland.
