Arthur J. Delperdang, 83 of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2010 in Sioux City. Funeral services for Arthur will be on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Nativity Catholic Church in Sioux City with Father Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. There will be an open visitation from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, located at 6200 Morningside Ave. Arrangements are by Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Arthur was born on January 17, 1927 in Plymouth County to Arthur and Ida (Wilberding) Delperdang. He graduated from Cherokee High School and attended NBT Business College. He also served his country during World War II in the US Navy. He worked in sales for Crescent Electric for 43 years, retiring in 1992.

Arthur was married to Marjorie Lane in September of 1949. To this union 4 children were born; Douglas, John Jack, Russell, and Cindy. She preceded him death in July of 1969.

He later was married to Jo Ann Sully in October of 1979.

Arthur belonged to the Siouxland Rental Association, American Legion, American Quarter Horse Association, and the American Paint Horse Association. Arthur loved horses and was still raising them at the time of his death. He was also a softball and baseball coach for many years and was a diehard Cub fan.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Jo Ann, his children, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, Jo Anns children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and 2 sisters Elva Johnson of Cherokee and Martha Tremain of Edmonds, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Marjorie, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
