Coleman Dean Sr.

SIOUX CITY -- Coleman Dean Sr., 83, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Touchstone Living Center.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Floyd E. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

Coleman was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Meridian, Miss., to Johnson and Daisy (Baylor) Dean. He was married to Jurine Trotter and Louise Kitchen. Mr. Dean was employed at IBP in Dakota City for many years.

In his free time, he loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family. Mr. Dean had a special love for the "Blues."

Survivors include four sons, Coleman Dean Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., Aaron Dean, DuWayne Dean and Chris Williams, all of Sioux City; a daughter, Helen Dean of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, William Dean of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Lorraine Dean; a host of grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; one daughter; three brothers; and one sister.
