Lucile M. Dean of Sioux City died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Embassy Care Center in Sergeant Bluff.

Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jon Gaul officiating. Private family graveside services will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Mrs. Dean was born May 24, 1907, in Sioux City, the daughter of Albert and Wilhelmine (Schmill) Mahnke. She graduated from Central High School in 1926.

She married Harold A. Dean on May 21, 1930, in Elk Point, S.D. He passed away May 30, 1982, in Sioux City. She was a homemaker.

She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, listening to music and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of First Christian Church, where she participated in church activities. She was a former member of the Sioux City Women's Club.

Survivors include a son, Robert G. "Bob" (Linda) Dean of Sioux City; three grandchildren, David, Susan and Paul; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard in infancy; and a brother, Darrel Mahnke.
