Theresa A. (Carda) Davis, 50, of Climbing Hill, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa, from injuries suffered in an auto accident.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. James Bruch officiating. Burial will be in Climbing Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Theresa was born July 23, 1957, in Sioux City, the daughter of Frank D. and Hazel W. (Larson) Carda Sr. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from West High School.
She married Robert W. "Bob" Davis on June 5, 1978, in Sioux City.
She was a member of the EZ Life Van Club. She enjoyed fishing, camping, music and dancing, but family was her life. She was looking forward to her grandson on the way and helping to plan her two son's wedding.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Davis; three children, Marie and her husband, Corey Handke of Sioux City, Robert W. Davis Jr. and his fiancee, Marti Jauer of Sioux City and Dale "Danny" Davis and his fiancee, Desiree Baumgardner of Pierson, Iowa; a granddaughter, Phoenix Baumgardner; and a grandson on the way; four brothers and their wives, Frank and Carmen Carda, Larry and Diane Carda (on permanent vacation in south Texas), Phillip and Renee Carda and Steve and Dixie Carda, all of Sioux City; four sisters and their husbands, Patricia and Lawrence "Pete" LeClair of Sioux City, Marsha Kelly and her life partner, Bill Squire of Norfolk, Neb., Sandy and Gary Hayden of Sioux City and Barb and Terry Fowler of Sioux City; many nieces and nephews; and her pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hazel Carda; twin sisters, Theresa Marie and Anna Marie; and two brothers-in-law, Tom Kelly and Dale Davis.
Pallbearers will be John Evans, Lawrence Carda, James Kelly, Phil Carda, Chad Clingenpeel, Rick Mitchell, Terry Hane, William Hane and Phillip Hane Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Carda, Steve Carda, Larry Carda, Phillip Carda, Terry Fowler, Gary Hayden, Pete LeClair, Bill Squire, Loral Mitchell, Paul Bumstead, Russ Mitchell, Robert Hane and Darren Davis.
