Ernest A. Davis

Ernest A. Davis, 76 of Jefferson, SD passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Westwood Care Center. There will be an open visitation for Ernest without his body present on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial of his cremains will be at a later date in New Hampshire, VT. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Ernest was born on January 31, 1935 in New Hampshire, VT to Charles and Rolena (Cambell) Davis. After graduation from high school Ernest went to Colorado School of Mines and graduated with a Geology Major. He was married to Noreen Lindo on April 15, 1967 in Venezuela, South America. He worked as a project Engineer for Kaiser Engineers. Ernest enjoyed collecting minerals.

He is survived by his wife Noreen Davis of Jefferson, SD; 2 sons Boyd (Jeannie) Davis of Petaluma, CA; and Ed (Cynthia) Davis of Santee, CA; 2 daughters Rosa Davis (Mike Brown) of Truckee, CA; and Nicole (John) Smelzer of Los Angeles, CA; 7 grandchildren and one half sister Myra Meeker of Tacoma, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a half brother and a half sister.
