Arlene was born July 29, 1946, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Mary (Robinson) Wright.
She married Arlen Dungan in 1967 and they were married for 24 years. She met Dale R. Dailey in 1993 and the couple were later married. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2007, in Sioux City.
She was a "jack of all trades", but her passion was cosmetology. She was a Mary Kay consultant, sold Tupperware and most recently was the medical management assistant for Siouxland Mental Health.
She loved gardening, cake decorating, traveling, camping (but not roughing it) and motorcycle rides. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandkids and always had a wink and a smile for them. When her children were in high school, she was known as the "high school mom", being the mom of many. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her children, Joe Dungan and his wife, Heather of Sioux City, Jamie Dungan and his wife, Beth of Roy, Wash., Jay Dungan and his fiancee, Dena of Aurelia, Iowa, and Jill Black of Sioux City; grandchildren, Clint, Kyle, Ann, Mathew, Peyton, Tyler, Savannah, Chase, Lizzi, Sammy and twin boys on the way; brothers, Donald Wright and his wife, Linda of Harlan, Iowa, and Ron Wright of Schaller, Iowa; a sister and her husband, Shirley and Ralph Doran of Harlan, Iowa; stepchildren, Heather Acosta of Jacksonville, Fla., and Brandie and Dale Dailey II, both of Sioux City; stepgrandchildren, Tyler and Dakota Madias and Christian Acosta; a very special friend, her mother-in-law, Beverly Monk of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dale.
Pallbearers will be Josh Doran, Shawn Doran, Brad Wright, Brent Wright, Cody Wright and Trevor Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Laurie Wright, Ashley Doran and Kevin Streck.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
