Joan A Cushman

Joan A. Cushman, 87, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Colonial Manor in Randolph, Neb.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery, Correctionville, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Joan was born Feb. 24, 1919, in Sioux City, the daughter of John G. and Alice Elizabeth (Clark) Kennedy.

She married E.L. "Jack" Cushman on March 16, 1939, in Elk Point, S.D. He died on Feb. 8, 1991, in Sioux City. Joan had lived in Sioux City her entire life until moving to Randolph, Neb., five years ago.

She was a member of Woodmen of the World and Moose Lodge. Joan's greatest joy was her family.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Sandra and Bob Sauser of Randolph; a son and his wife, Ron and Carol Cushman of St. Louis Park, Minn.; five grandchildren, Kristie (Keevin) Arens, Beckie (Steve) Lechtenberg, Dorothy "Dottie" (Tom) Schmit, Nicole (Dan) Peterson and Shannon Cushman; two stepgrandchildren, Don Pinkston and Chris (Jackie) Pinkston; and her longtime best friend, Cecil Michael.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and several brothers and sisters.
