Janet H. Crosier of Sioux City died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Valerie A. Heller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Mrs. Crosier was born March 21, 1930, in Crab Orchard, Neb., the daughter of Max and Lillian (Oft) Harder. She attended teachers college. She taught in country schools in Nebraska.
She married Robert Crosier in 1952 in Adams, Neb. and moved to Omaha. After moving to Sioux City in later years, she was employed as a shoe saleswoman at Walker Shoes and had her own business selling Avon.
She was a member of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church. She loved music, playing the piano and church organ. She loved her big fat cats. While living at Holy Spirit Retirement Home, she served as president of the residential council and lead a Bible study for the residences. She volunteered as a pianist whenever needed.
Survivors include a brother, Byron Harder of Firth, Neb.; a sister, Ina June Swanson of Hawaii; a sister-in-law, Edus Harder of Crab Orchard, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Max Harder.
