SIOUX CITY -- Robert K. Crayne, 66, of Okoboji, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at his residence following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Revs. Michael Erpelding and Patrick Walsh officiating. There will be no visitation. Bob was born April 9, 1944, in Sioux City, the son of Kenneth and Connie (Higney) Crayne. He attended St. Boniface Grade School and graduated from Heelan High School. He went to St. Thomas College in Minneapolis, then graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in accounting.

He married Marcia Becker on Aug. 20, 1966, in Sioux City. He was a certified public accountant and began his career at Cooper and Lybrand Accounting in Des Moines. He came back to Sioux City and joined Nichols Rice and Company. He was self-employed with Crayne-Parkinson Accounting, then joined King, Reinsch, Prosser and Company. Bob retired in 2005.

Bob truly loved Sioux City and was very generous with his time, serving on numerous boards and organizations.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia Crayne of Okoboji; two sons, Ryan Crayne of Minneapolis, and Elliott Crayne of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a daughter, Bridgett Chaclan and her husband, Anaibal Chaclan of Sioux City; two brothers, Jim Crayne and his wife, Margie of Sioux City, and John Crayne and his wife, Carol of Milwaukee, Wis.; and five grandchildren, Colin, Avery, Carter, Rosie and Carson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sallie Crayne.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Girls Inc.

The family would like to thank Hospice and the chemotherapy nurses at Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake, Iowa, for the wonderful care thay gave to Bob.
