Thomas B. Craig, 82 of Sioux City passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 at a local Nursing Home. Funeral services for Thomas will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Michelle Williamson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery with Military graveside rites by the US Army Reserves.
Thomas was born on September 25, 1927 in Sloan, Iowa to John B. and Keturah S. (Holdcroft) Craig. He graduated from Sloan High School. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Army. He was married to Emma Cook on January 21, 1956 in Elk Point. Thomas worked for several years as a farmer working both agriculture and livestock. He was also employeed by Payless Cashway from 1972 to 1984. Thomas loved to fish, spend time with family and play cards. He was a past member of the American Legion.
Thomas is survived by his wife Emma Craig; son Mickey E. (Heike) Craig; daughter Jodie Craig all of Sioux City; 7 grandchildren Jessica (Jim) Johnson, Mickey Jr.(Cayla), Jacob, Zachary, Andrew, Ian, and Jadyn Craig; 2 great grandchildren Andee and Annabelle; two step Children Danny Starkey and Gerry Mays; Tom is also survived by Tom and Iris Hammer and Roxanne (Jeff) OBrien. He was preceded in death by his parents, 13 brothers and sisters and a granddaughter Aaryn Craig. Pallbearers will be Shawn Craig, Bruce Craig, Craig Williamson, Luke Sackett, Jim Cook and Chris Cook.
