Ethel M. Craft, 92, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006 at a local nursing home. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2006 from 3- 8 p.m. A prayer service will then begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (formerly Nelson ~ Berger Morningside Chapel). A funeral service will then be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Reverend Leo Kostizen officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ethel was born October 19, 1914 in Hinton, Iowa to John C. and Clara A. (Beck) Hoffman. She attended and graduated from Central High School in Sioux City. Ethel married Ross C. Craft on November 19, 1938 in Sioux City. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City except for a short time where she lived in Dubuque, IA. Ethel was a homemaker and was also well known for expertly made quilts. Friends and family have carried these quilts far and wide. Ethel was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dorcus Circle, Senior Citizens and the 55 plus club. She also volunteered for the Red Cross and Cancer society.

Ethel is survived by her brothers, Charles Hoffman, Eugene Hoffman and his wife Norma, Kenneth Hoffman and his wife Cherryll, all of Sioux City. Robert Hoffman of Riverside, CA. Sisters, Darlene Nelson of Sioux City and Betty Leapley of St. Louis, MO. and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ross on March 26, 1986, daughter, Sheilah, son Troy, brothers, Irvin, Donald, and Wayne Hoffman. Sisters Lorraine Greive, Lois Birchler, and Esther Eyler.

Serving, as casket bearers will be Charles Solomon, Beth Hulett, Kenny Hulett, Rob Hoffman, Doug Siefker, Ray Draube, Norbert Seebach, and Curt Stoever.

Many thanks to Hospice and the Staff at the nursing home for their kindness and care.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul Lutheran School.
