Terry Lee Cole

McCOOK LAKE, S.D. -- Terry Lee Cole, 57, of Shreveport, La., formerly of McCook Lake, died of a massive heart attack Saturday, July 26, 2008, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Terry was born Aug. 29, 1950, in Sioux City, the son of Vernon and June (Levering) Cole. He graduated from Jefferson (S.D.) High School and Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force as a captain, flying a refueling plane. He was employed as a stock broker and an investment advisor.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening and canning. His daughter was his whole life. He will be remembered as a kind and loving person, who always lent a helping hand. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his partner, Susan Wilder of Shreveport, La.; his daughter, Kristina Cole (6) of Shreveport; his parents, Vernon and June Cole of Huron, S.D.; four sister, Barbara (Gary) Steeg of Elk Point, S.D., Gerri (Lyle) Moffett of Sioux City, Susan (Albert) Justin of Burleson, Texas, and Tracey Miller of Alexandra, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon A. Cole.
