Carol A. Coenen

Carol A. Coenen, 60, of South Sioux City died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at her residence.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Carol was born Sept. 7, 1946, in Sioux City, to Clarence and Mae (Oakley) Jorgensen. She received her G.E.D. from WIT.

She married Raymond E. Coenen Sr. on June 14, 1964. She was employed in various positions at St. Vincent Hospital, now Mercy Medical Center.

She was a member of the Fibromyalgia lunch club. She looked forward every day to receiving her Meals on Wheels and in her free time never went anywhere without her find-a-word books.

Survivors include a son, Ray Coenen and his wife, Dawn; a daughter, Tammie Arneson and her husband, Jay of Spirit Lake, Iowa; a brother, Jim Jorgensen and his wife, Carol of Folsom, Calif.; two sisters and their husbands, Connie and Jim Stanwick of Smithland, Iowa, and Karen and Bryan Reynolds of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Joshua, Amanda, Nicole, Kelsey and Payton; and many special friends at Forest Acres in South Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica; her parents; and a brother-in-law, Stephen Schultzen.
