Beth D. Cobb, 94, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Casa de Paz following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cobb was born April 16, 1914, in Cushing, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence Henry and Sadie Mae (Wright) Bush. She attended schools in Cushing and Sioux City.
She was married to Freeman LeRoy "Bud" Cobb on Nov. 22, 1930. He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1972. She worked in lingerie at T.S. Martin's and Younkers. She retired from work when she was 75.
She enjoyed sewing, crafts, decorating, listening to music, dancing, entertaining and she loved her family, of which she was very proud.
Survivors include 11 children, Connie McMullen, Barb (Darrell) Dokken, Pat (Neil) Cleveland, Judy Keleher, Nancy (ElRoy) Altimus, Beverly (Larry) Hanson and Penny (Leroy) Hedemark, Don (Barb) Cobb, Jim Cobb and special friend, Carol Smith, all of Sioux City, Dick (Jackie) Cobb of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Larry Dean Cobb of Glenwood, Iowa; 37 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and 41 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Betty Jensen and Carol Hartnett; two brothers, Bob and LaVerne Bush; and a granddaughter, Laurie Nielson.
