Judith R. Chytka, 60, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Private family graveside services will be held Monday, June 30, 2008 in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Judith was born on July 27, 1947, in Aberdeen, S.D., to Daniel and Rosemary (Dosch) Weber. She graduated from Ipswich Public Schools in Ipswich, S.D., before obtaining her secretarial degree from Northwest College of Commerce in Huron, S.D. Judith worked for the state of South Dakota for a number of years before her children were born. Thereafter, she made her career motherhood. Her children overwhelmingly agree that she was a devoted mother and continued her passion as a grandmother.
After her children were grown and away from home, Judith worked at Bickford Assisted Living in housekeeping and patient care and also worked at St. Luke's Hospital as a patient ambassador. Judith enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, Ryan Chytka and his wife, Ann of Medford, Ore., and Mark Chytka and his wife, Laci of Dakota City; daughters, Denise Chytka and Kerry Chytka, both of Sioux City; grandchildren, Ashley, Levi and Ayden of Medford, Ore., and Jayden and Addyson of Dakota City; and brothers, Richard Weber (DeAnn) of Mina, S.D., Gene Weber (Sharon) of Delano, Minn., and Glenn Weber of Aberdeen, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
