Viola Church

Viola (Vicki) Church, 56 of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at a Sioux City Hospital. Funeral services for Viola will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Rasmussen officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. with family present from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Viola V. Church was born on May 31, 1953 in Sioux City to Herbert Dean and Madeline Grace (Cromwell) Hewitt. Viola graduated from Central High School. She was married for 19 years to Louis L. Church, he preceded her death in 1995 in Sioux City. She later married Jerry Myers on December 31, 2003 in Sioux City. Viola ran her own daycare called Vickis Daycare for 12 years. She was also a homemaker raising her four children. She loved arts and crafts, creating ceramics and paintings. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and going camping.

She is survived by her husband Jerry Myers of Sioux City; 4 children Kevin (significant other Janet) Church of Cedar Rapids; Todd (Stacie) Church of Gretna, NE; Brian (Marcie) Church of Cedar Rapids; and Savannah (Justin) Swick of Sioux City; 9 grandchildren; 4 brothers Roy, Danny Ray, George (Donna), and Louie Hewitt and 2 sisters Wilma Mapes and Judy Carmen. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Louis, sister Bessie Coop, a brother Walter Dean Hewitt and a brother in infancy.
