Miriam D. Christopherson

Funeral services for Miriam D. Christopherson, 89 of Sioux City will be on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel located at 6200 Morningside Ave. Private burial services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009 in Kingsley, Iowa. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Miriam passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at her residence following a brief illness.

Miriam was born on November 19, 1919 in Washta, Iowa to Warren and Erma (Hiller) McQueen. She graduated from Pierson High School. She was married to Delmar A. Christopherson on July 4, 1938. He preceded her in death in August of 1985 in Sioux City. Miriam was a past member of Augustana Lutheran Church where she was an active member of the church circle and alter guild. Miriam loved to garden and do handcrafts. She was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her son Dennis (Joan) Christopherson of Centennial, CO; daughter Debbie Delaney of Des Moines; daughter-in-law Marilyn Christopherson of Seattle, WA; a brother Daker (Theresa) McQueen of Pierson; 5 grandchildren Donna, Annette, John, Michael, and Katie; 6 great grandchildren Natalie, Kaylah, Katlin, Tyler, Abbi, and Lilly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gary and a sister Thelma Vanbuskirk.
