Patrick James A. "Pat" Chesher, 55, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, of natural causes.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Pat was born Sept. 23, 1952, in Sioux City, the son of Robert and Gladys (Paulsen) Chesher. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Heelan High School in 1970.
In his younger years, he worked for IBP. He held various jobs during the years.
He enjoyed sports, fishing and playing softball for Marty's Tap. He followed the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Atlanta Braves.
He was a member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Chesher and his girlfriend, Jen, and Jake Chesher, all of Sioux City; four brothers, Bob Chesher and his wife, Priscilla, of Sioux City, Mike Chesher and his wife, Lisa, of Sergeant Bluff, Tom Chesher and his wife, Denise, of Spokane Valley, Wash., and Jeffrey Chesher of Sioux City; and his caregiver, Jamie Wilshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
