Bernice E. Chase, 92, of South Sioux City, NE. formerly of Newcastle, NE. passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2007 in South Sioux City. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14, 2007 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A vigil will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Reverends Kenny Hoesing and James McCluskey concelebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Newcastle, NE.
Bernice was born on September 19, 1914 in Newcastle, NE. She was the daughter of Christian and Gail (Parks) Beyeler. She was married to Thomas Chase on Febraury 13, 1933. They had 4 sons and lived in Newcastle and later in Yankton, SD. Bernice lived in South Sioux City for the last 20 years, prior to moving to Regency Square assisted living facility in 2004. Bernice was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in South Sioux City. She will be missed by all.
Bernice is survived by sons, Pat Chase and wife Marlene of Ainsworth, NE., Al Chase and wife Ronna of Glendale, AZ., Glen Chase and wife Pam of Chanute, KS, and brother Glen Beyeler and wife Alice of Wynot, NE. 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Chase, son Thomas Chase Jr, sisters Lucile Essy, Lena McClary, Emogene Martinsen and brothers Sylvester Beyeler, and Jack Beyeler.
Serving as, pallbearers will be Doug Chase, Scott Chase, Richard Chase, Tom Chase, Gary Olson and Ron Nielsen.
