Lola Chapman, 88, of Dilworth, Minn., formerly of Spencer and Council Bluffs, Iowa, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Moorhead, Minn.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Washington Heights Bible Chapel in Sioux City, with Elder Dan Speichinger officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City.
Lola was born May 21, 1922, in Lidgerwood, N.D., to Joseph and Mabel S. (Stine) Saumweber. She graduated from Fargo (N.D.) Central High School.
She was married to James Tuton on Feb. 4, 1943, in Sioux City. To this union three children were born. She was later married to Charles Chapman on July 14, 1974, in Omaha. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Lola and Charles were longtime and devoted members of Council Bluffs Chapel, which they dearly loved. She enjoyed reading the Bible in her free time.
Survivors include two sons, James E. (Paulette) Tuton of Spencer, Iowa, and Leslie (LaDonna) Tuton of Dilworth, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; a brother, Leslie Saumweber of Bentonville, Ark.; and a sister, Sara Swanson of Austin, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; a brother, Joseph David; a daughter, Sara; and four grandchildren, Anita, Adam, Shannon and Danny.
