Jack Carlbom, 83, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Jack was born Sept. 12, 1924, in Chadron, Neb., the son of Henry and Electa (Jennings) Carlbom. He graduated from high school and Chadron Teacher College. He was a janitor at Younkers for 30 years.
He was of the Methodist faith. Jack enjoyed reading before going blind; he then turned to talk radio.
Survivors include a niece, Judi Slater of Billings, Mont.; three great-nephews, Richard, Michael and Jason Slater; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale; and a sister, Betty.
